This month marked the end of our two year discounted bundle price. I didn’t know this when we went into budgeting for the month, so our bill increase was an irritating surprise to me, but nothing we couldn’t handle. From here on out, $70 a month is what’s being budgeted.
Credit Card 1: $118.05 $118.05
We are done paying off debt with this card, and we currently use it for reoccurring monthly bills such as Netflix, newspaper subscription, and so on. The actual payment on this card this month was $221.21. The difference in reoccuring charges and what we paid is because we got some tools for a home repair job, as well as some clothing Hubs needed for his training last month. The extra money to pay off these costs came from our annual savings account.
Credit Card 2: $210 $210
The actual payment on the card this month was $252.37. The difference of $42.37 was from a gift purchase for Hubs’ dad’s birthday earlier this month, which was paid off immediately with money from our gifting fund.
Student Loans: $978.99 $978.99
This month I paid a huge chunk off of my smaller student loan, leaving about $160 left on it to be paid next month.
Car Payment: $264.80 $264.80
Electric: $145 $132.11
Insurance: $244.26 $243.84
Piano Lessons: $0 $0
Bookworm’s piano lessons are a generous gift from my mother-in-law.
Fun Money: $80 $80
Annual Savings Account: $240 $240
Cash Flow Savings: $160 $160
Debt Snowball Savings: $80 $95.04
Remainder
After all our savings and expenses for the month, I was left with roughly $658 for groceries, gas, and other miscellaneous expenses for the month.
Groceries & Household Items: $537.47
Gas: $53.53
Miscellaneous: $30.71 for rabbit food and hay, and $31.90 spent for seed starter soil, and some seeds such as multi-colored chard, butter crunch lettuce, etc, that I wasn’t able to find at the end of last season. The kids want to try watermelons and cantalopes again this year. I’ll start them indoors again, hoping they don’t get eaten by slugs while they’e growing, and we should have some worth eating by the end of summer.
After all expenses, I was left with a $5.28 overage for the month. By the end of the month though, Monkey had some vicious nasal congestion, so Lady Bug and I got him the only saline my local Walmart had in stock that day, at a hit of $4.97. Next time I’m out at Target, I’ll have to grab their version to have on hand so I’m not spending that much on saline again.
